I’m Heather Schwartz (she/her), a therapist, artist, and grief educator with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and organizations through some of life’s most tender moments. My work is rooted in the belief that grief is not a problem to be solved—but a story to be witnessed, honored, and integrated.
Before becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I earned a Master of Arts in Painting, where I first discovered the healing potential of creative expression. My path into therapy began in hospital art rooms and nonprofit classrooms, offering art therapy to people facing cancer, illness, and profound loss. That work, paired with the personal grief of losing my father—my greatest supporter—led me to pursue my MSW and specialize in grief, end-of-life care, and the quiet, complicated spaces that follow loss.
Today, I’m licensed in California and Alaska, where I provide individual therapy, grief coaching, and grief-informed consulting for individuals, teams, and organizations. My approach blends clinical experience with creativity, presence, and a deep respect for the way grief reshapes us.
Whether I’m working one-on-one or speaking to a room of hundreds, my goal is always the same: to help people feel less alone in their grief—and more rooted in their strength.
I'm currently writing a book about grief that explores personal loss, collective mourning, and the way love continues to evolve after someone is gone.
When I’m not working, you can find me hiking with my dogs through the redwood forests, reading during the rainy season, or painting in my studio.
